I'm thrilled to announce that my landscape photograph "Lone Tree at Slioch" has been shortlisted in the prestigious British Photography Awards 2025 landscape category!
First and foremost, congratulations to all the other talented photographers who have been shortlisted across all 20 categories. The quality of work is absolutely outstanding, and it's an honour to be included alongside such incredible talent from across the UK and British photographers worldwide.
This photograph was captured during a changeable winter morning while exploring the shores of Loch Maree in Torridon, Scotland. I discovered this solitary tree standing defiantly on a small hill against the imposing, snow-capped Mount Slioch - a scene that perfectly embodies the raw beauty and dramatic scale of the Scottish Highlands.
